It’s not often that a rhyming poem makes its way into the poetry box, but I find this little piece by the British poet Wendy Cope quite irresistible. An Amazon reviewer said of her book, Serious Concerns, “It shows that when the most serious subjects are treated light-heartedly, they become even more telling.” Exactly.
